Dan Womer, Ph.D. has worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 11 years. He joined the industry as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Eli Lilly and Company. Following 2 years in that role he joined Parke-Davis as a field-based Medical Liaison. Dan was then promoted to a Management role at Parke-Davis where he oversaw 6 Medical Liaisons. Following the acquisition of Parke-Davis by Pfizer, Inc. Dan accepted a role as a Senior Medical Liaison. Two years after the acquisition by Pfizer, Inc. Dan was recruited by Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc. to manage the West Medical Liaison team. Dan has now been at Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc. for over 6 years and holds the title of Regional Associate Director responsible for Medical Liaisons in the Internal Medicine and Central Nervous System therapeutic areas.

Dan received his B.A. in Biological Sciences from the University of Northern Colorado. Upon graduation, he joined a small biotech company in Boulder where he stayed for one year working on a biologic response modifier drug that was to be used for inoperable brain tumors before enrolling in a M.A program back at UNC. His M.A. research at UNC was conducted on the physiology of the swift fox which resulted in his first publication. After receiving his M.A. in Biological Sciences, Dan proceeded to the University of Colorado to pursue his Ph.D. Dan received his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (pharmacology) in 1994. His research focused on the behavioral and biochemical/receptor characterization of cocaine-induced locomotor differences between 2 strains of mice. This research led to numerous publications and presentations at national scientific meetings. Dan then accepted a Post-Doctoral position at Indiana University School of Medicine where he worked in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics. At the end of one year he moved to Eli Lilly and Company for his second Post-Doctoral position.

Dan has numerous peer-reviewed publications and holds 2 patents with an additional 11 patent applications pending approval. Dan was the past President of the Indiana Chapter of the Society for Neuroscience, co-founder of the University of Colorado Alumni Chapter, Indianapolis, and has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Dan lives in Thornton, Colorado with his wife Kristen, son Andy and unruly Basset Hound Wilma. He enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, running and spending time with his family when not on the road.
